New York City mandates flu shots for all children attending school or day care

Unless their parents opt for a medical or religious exemption, young school children in New York City will soon be required to get a flu shot in order to attend preschool or gain access to a child care facility.

As outlined by the New York City Health Department (NYCHD), children aged 6-59 months will be barred from attending classes or being around other children in an institutional setting if they don't first get jabbed for the flu -- this, despite warnings by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that this year's flu shot doesn't even work.

According to , children living in New York City who fall into this age grouping will have until December 31 to either get a flu shot or file a medical or religious exemption, which parents can learn more about here.

A state-by-state graphic explaining all vaccine exemption options available to parents is available here.

Mandatory flu shots for NYC toddlers the brainchild of Bloomberg regime

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is responsible for the new flu shot rules, which were quietly proposed last year around this time, just three weeks before the end of Bloomberg's reign of terror. At the time, many protesters loudly opposed it, including representatives from the Autism Action Network (AAN).

"The Bloomberg administration is wildly exaggerating the benefit of the flu shot and we think they are wildly underestimating the risks involved with it," stated John Gilmore, executive director of AAN, last December.

Though some suspected that the city's new ruling monarch would overturn this hideous assault on personal liberty, Mayor Bill de Blasio's regime appears to be going right along with it, even though many local parents aren't planning to comply.

"The risks for the flu shot are pretty high, (and) the benefit is not that good," stated Zoey O'Toole to 7online. O'Toole has several children of her own who have never been, and will not be, vaccinated with flu shots.

CDC says flu shots don't even work

What makes these new requirements even more outrageous is the fact that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently admitted that this year's flu shot doesn't work because it doesn't target the appropriate strains. This, on top of the fact that flu shots are already a dismal failure when it comes to safety and effectiveness.

"... roughly half of the H3N2 viruses analyzed are drift variants: viruses with antigenic or genetic changes that make them different from that season's vaccine virus," reads a recent press release issued by the CDC.

"This means the vaccine's ability to protect against those viruses may be reduced."

Mercury-laden flu shots are only about 1 percent effective

The implication here is that flu shots may still provide some protection for some people. But as we reported back in 2011, flu shots are only about 1.5 percent effective, at best. The vast majority of people who get flu shots are not only not protected against the flu, but many of them end up contracting the virus while their unvaccinated peers remain healthy.

Then, there's the issue of toxic mercury in vaccines, which tests conducted by the Natural News Forensic Food Lab revealed is present in very high amounts in flu shots. Tests conducted on GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)'s Flulaval vaccine revealed 51 parts per million (ppm) of mercury, which is over 25,000 times higher than the maximum contaminant level for water established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
